As we prepare to kick off the home track season, I would like to take a moment to once again recognize and thank all of the folks who helped create our all-weather track that can be used by our student-athletes as well as all of our community patrons on a regular basis.  First, thank you to John & Jan Monnig for their monetary donations to fund this project!  As to the planning and engineering, thanks to All-State Consultants.  Thanks to Frech paving for serving as the primary contractor for this project including all of the asphalt work and to Fisher Tracks for laying the final top coat of rubber and striping the track.  Initial dirt work was completed by Scott Sanders and family and Mike Brand and original drain work was completed by Cale Aholt.  Thanks to Scott Fuemmeler, Garrett Fuemmeler, Jerome Meyer and Jeff Fuemmeler for all of their assistance with hauling dirt, rock and lime throughout the project and thanks to Skyline Quarries for supplying the rock and lime.  Thanks to Monnig Industries for use of equipment and to MFA of Glasgow for supplying grass seed and fertilizer.  Thanks to Geoff Moorehead for providing grass seeders and equipment and thanks to LaCrosse lumber for donating all of the lumber necessary for building a new press box.  Thanks to Bob Draffen and Troy Fuemmeler for building the new shot put area and thanks to Gary Schaefer and all of our students and Mitch Monnig & Phil Johanning for building the new press box and retaining wall.  Thanks to Pat Johanning for installing the new speaker system and the cameras and thanks to Howard Electric for setting the new poles and lights and thanks to Glasgow Ready Mix for all of the concrete work around the new surface and for the new driveway/walkway from our parking lot.  Thanks to all of the parents, patrons, and students who helped clean up around the track in recent weeks to help us get ready for all of the home track meets.

As you can see by the list above, this project would not have been possible without the tremendous support received by countless local businesses and patrons and if I left someone out, I apologize and thank you as well.  For the past 18 months, we have anxiously and excitedly awaited the opportunity to host a track meet on our new track and look forward to kicking off the season on March 29th at 4 p.m.  Additionally, for the first time in nearly 20 years, our school will have the privilege of hosting a Class I District Track meet on Saturday, May 6th, 2017.  Once again, on behalf of Glasgow Schools, thank you and we hope you get out and enjoy the new track!

Respectfully,

Mike Reynolds, Glasgow Schools
