CARE Basket Information
Central Missouri Community Action (CMCA) is preparing for the 5th annual Community Action Relief Event, also known as the C.A.R.E. Basket initiative.  They seek donations from businesses/individuals/organizations of items that cannot be purchased using the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (S.N.A.P, formerly Food Stamps). These items include toilet paper, paper towels, facial tissues, dish soap, paper plates, napkins, trash bags, freezer storage bags, saran wrap, etc.  They can also personalize the baskets for families and include items such as shampoo/conditioner, hand soap/hand sanitizer, tooth brush/tooth paste, diapers/wipes, etc.
They use
any checks/cash donations to purchase
some of
the personalized items.

The baskets are assembled in December and are given to families during the
Holiday
season.  Additional information is below under CARE Basket Suggested Donation List and New CARE Basket Referral Form.

“Has the idea of becoming a foster parent and opening your home to a child who needs you been weighing on your heart?”

There are currently 13,000 children in foster care in the state of Missouri and though each child’s situation is different but each child dreams of having a place to call “HOME.”  A place that is warm, clean, safe, and nurturing.  Could this be your home?  Please consider the follow quote:

“A hundred years from now it will not matter what my bank account was, the sort of house I lived in, or the kind of car I drove…but the world may be different because I was important in the life of a child.”  And this child will be thankful for YOU.

If you would like to receive more information, please contact the Randolph/Howard County Children’s Division at 660-263-4330 x255 to reach Resource and Licensing Worker, Kayla Zwonitzer today!
